"OH MY LAWWWWDDDD IT IS FREEZING HERE!" your friend screamed into the frosty air as you hiked to the cabin you were both staying at. You two had wanted to have a fun trip for the two of you before you both started college in the fall, so when your friend's parents suggested using their cabin you both jumped on it.
What they had failed to tell you two was that it was in Canada and to add on to that the cabin was basically in the middle of nowhere.
Great you thought as you huffed in aggravation, we could be killed up here by a moose or bear and nobody would here us, your friend turned around to you as you walked down the rural path to this mysterious cabin and laughed. "_____, ya' know this could be really fun being just the two of us, maybe we can wrestle a bear or punch a moose and become totally wilderness bad asses up here" You laughed at your friend, she knew just how to hit your funny bone even when you were as grumpy as you were now.
The cabin finally came into view and you sprinted toward the welcome sight, hoping for warmth and a bed after this horrid travel up to the cabin. Your friend and you finally got to the front door and quickly ushered inside, but when you entered the house you both stood frozen in the doorway. The fireplace was lit, and you could hear T.V from the distance, your friend and you quickly exchanged glances as you both thought you had the wrong cabin. "I know this is the right cabin,_____" your friend said in a hushed whisper" It's the only one for miles" You both looked in the house cautiously, and tip toed in trying not to make your presence known to the mystery person in the house. You got about halfway into the house when you saw a bloody hokey stick laying against the opposite wall from you, your friend almost started to scream when you quickly put up a hand to silence her.
This all started to feel like a bad horror movie to you, and you weren't about to be a stupid girl and trip and alert the killer to your whereabouts. You motioned for your friend to start moving toward the door so you can both get the hell out of this scenario , she got to the door fine and walked quietly down the steps. You started toward the door, checking again that whoever was in the living room was not moving, then started slowly to the door when you heard a sound that made your blood run cold. From behind you, a low menacing growl rumbled though the air and you saw your friends eyes grow wide with terror. You slowly turned around to be face to face with a ginormous polar bear, and he did not look happy.
The only thought running through your head was that you were going to die, but the bear quickly backed away and turned to the living room when a masculine voice hollered "Kuma heal!" You just stood in shock as a tall blonde man strolled into the doorway, he was in a Mountie uniform and had sunglasses on so you couldn't see his eyes but you knew he was staring at you, you could feel it. He looked over you and you suppressed a shiver, he slid his sunglasses off his face to reveal bright violet eyes, and with a sigh he said "Who are you?" You couldn't form thoughts god forbid words, you just sat there staring in shock at this gorgeous yet scary man. He started to get agitated by your lack of words so your friend stammered from the doorway "W-We a-are supposed t-to stay here, my parents o-own this cabin" He didn't even look over in her direction but just kept staring back at you.
"That wasn't my question,I know why you're here, I asked for her name" he said rudely to your friend. You quickly stammered out "_-___" and with that he strolled over to you, "Matt" he said as he stood in front you you with a slight smirk. You regained control of your limbs and quickly jumped over to your friend, "Why are you here?" you got out finally not stammering. He walked back to the living room and called back "I'm the care taker for this cabin" your friend was furiously dialing her parents and stomped outside waiting to ask why they did not tell them about a scary Mountie care taker. You remained at the doorway, scared to go in or out of the house, the scary polar bear still staring at you wasn't helping either.
Matt walked back into the room and said " Do you want me to take you and your friend's things to your rooms?" you quickly said no thank you, still not sure you trusted the man. Quickly you took your friend and yours things up the stairs and started searching for rooms, "I can show you where the rooms are" Matt said from behind her and she jumped turned around not hearing him follow her.He opened a door and said "This is your friend's room" you quickly put her stuff down on her bed and shuffled out into the hall, feeling awkward around Matt. He walked down the hall a little bit and opened a door on the end, "And this is your room" You felt kind of uneasy having your room so far away from your friend but not wanting to upset Matt you just quietly put your stuff down into the room. Your room was very breathtaking, it had dark wood furniture to compliment the dark floor and the cabin walls, but had pure white sheets and curtains which was a startling yet beautiful contrast."I'll let you get settled in" Matt said as he closed your door and with that you were left alone to your own thoughts.
Matt was certainly handsome, you felt a little weird for kind of crushing on him already but quickly pushed it aside. This was supposed to be a FUN vacation, if you liked him, you liked him, no harm in that. You started giggling just thinking what your friend would say when you told her you kind of liked the scary house keeper, maybe this vacation wouldn't be so bad after all
